Estimativa da carga tóxica de efluentes industriais

Abstract

ln order to compare the toxic load values e~imated by an analytical _method (Toxic Units) and two mathematical models (Joint Toxicity and Toxicity Index), 68 industrial effluents were studied. The classification of the toxic loads were correctly estimated in 44% and 19% of the effluents according, respectively, to these models. The limitations of the models in predicting effiuent toxic loads and consequently their ranking are discussed.
