Uma metodologia para controle de odores

Abstract

For a long time the kraft pulp mills were considered as an unsolvable problema, i. e., even applying the best practical available technology to control the odor emissions, mainly hydrogen sulphide and metil mercaptan, it was common to say that the threshold odor limit in the neighborhood had not been controlled yet.Taking as a base one the kraft pulp mills situated in the State of São Paulo (Brazil) it was possible to implementa planto solve this problem, wich consists of two phases: the definition of the matter and the emission control. The main part of the issue was to défine what would be economically the leve! of the odor wich could be bearable for the neighboring community.
