Abstract

This paper presents results obtained by rcmoving hydrogen sulphide (H2S) from a sciilage biodigestor gas stream passing rhrough a soil filter at different detencion times. Several modifications in the system and in che operation conditions were introduced along the development of the study, leading to a satisfactory condition which completely removed H2S concencrations of up to 16, 70mg/l, in a 86, 7 seconds detention time. Biological degradacion could not be detectes under these test conditions.
